Release Notes

So, Where’s The Audio …?

Glad you asked.

In this release, I had planned to add the ability to add Apple Music and Spotify Playlists to the application. I thought it might be good to be able to assign a collection or film with audio of your choice.

But after looking at the options avaliable – and the restrictions imposed by Apple and Spotify – I realized that doing so would probabaly be more frustrating to you. So I abandoned that idea in favor making the app NOT take over the audio track.

So, you’re free to play whatever music from whatever app you’d like – while playing this app. That gives to all the options available to you – and it makes the app much more enjoyable to use. So, if you want ambient music to play, or rainforest sounds, or industrial back hoes – go ahead and do that. I’ll have Dead Can Dance or Anima Animus Animal or FKA Twigs …

A Hearty Handshake

To William Gibson – Several collection titles / films are quotes from ‘Neuromancer’.

Neuromancer is a 1984 science fiction novel by American-Canadian writer William Gibson. Considered one of the earliest and best-known works in the cyberpunk genre, it is the only novel to win the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award. Set in the future, the novel follows Henry Case, a washed-up hacker hired for one last job, which brings him in contact with a powerful artificial intelligence.

Neuromancer inspired this young, geeky kid to become a software engineer. Of course, you can buy his novels everywhere!

Creative Influences

Several collection titles / films are inspired from musicians that I love.

Of course ’17 Seconds’ and ‘Faith’ by Saint Robert and his Cure have played a large part in my life – as well as in the painting studio. Many films ideas have been inspired by those audio landscapes. Ha – come to think of it, an experiemental student film I did back at Allegheny had ‘The Decent’, one of my fave b-sides, playing in the background – and Anita’s eventual husband, Jesse, as the subject in the foreground!

You’ll find references to Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division, and Souxie in these films. To be honest, most of my aesthetic tastes are quite post-punk and gothic. But you’d never guess it by looking at me … LOL

To Anita Buzzy-Prentiss

For the ‘En Pointe’ Collection.

Anita and I were best pals back in Allgeheny College. Many nights hanging out in her dorm or in the art studio. When I told her about this project, she immediately gave me a ‘So COOL!’ and we ventured into the great things she could film. This is one of many.

Check out her AMAZING photography at https://www.buzzyphoto.com !

Thanks
